The Fine Food Company

Working with the graphic designer William Redfern, Green Quadrant has developed a new site for the Fine Food Company, who as well as being one of the UK's leading outdoor event caterers have a very strong focus on the provenance and quality of their food. The Joomla-based site allows them to manage their own content easily and efficiently as well as providing functionality for recruiting temporary staff. Joomla enables search engine friendly URLs and the Fine Food Company will be able to carry out detailed analyses of site traffic using AWstats on their Debian virtual private server.

Local Government Alliance for International Development

Green Quadrant has developed a new website for the Local Government Alliance for International Development. The site allows local government organisations to share information on development projects and is integrated with Google maps to allow geographical presentation of case studies. The site also features an easy to use newsletter management component allowing regular e-mail communication with subscribers and an interactive calendaring feature for displaying events and activities. We have also helped LGA carry out large-scale surveys of their community using the open source LimeSurvey system.

World Fair Trade Day

Working with the ethical communications agency Host Universal on behalf of WFTO, the World Fair Trade Organisation, Green Quadrant developed a multilingual, interactive, multimedia website for World Fair Trade Day.

The site allows users to register and manage their profiles, plan events, post videos, take part in discussion forums and comment on blog and news articles, as well as link content to their favourite social networking sites.

In a second phase of the project we developed social networking functionality similar to that found on Facebook and extended the event management solution to enable Fair Trade organisations to publicise and manage their World Fair Trade Day events.

The site was built  in Joomla with the use of a variety of social networking extensions and runs on Apache on a Xen virtual private server with Debian as the operating system.

Host Universal

Building on the success of the World Fair Trade Day project, Green Quadrant was asked to develop a new website for Host Universal, including a social networking component enabling Host to build and communicate with its network of associates and partners. Host is one of the UK's leading ethical communications agencies and has been responsible for major campaigns for organisations such as Cafe Direct, Ecotricity and the Body Shop in its early days.

LindenFrench Webshop

Using a combination of Joomla and Virtuemart, Greenquadrant designed and built a webshop for LindenFrench, an online retailer of high quality babywear and soft toys. The user-friendly shop interface allows non-technical users to upload new products and manage stock availability, pricing and shipping details. The shop is fully integrated with Paypal for automatic credit card processing. Hosting of the site on a Debian and Xen based virtual private server provides a very cost-effective solution. The software itself is of course entirely free!
